For skiers: skis with touring bindings & skins
For snowboarders: splitboard & skins or snowboard & snowshoes (splitboard recommended for the AST 2 course)

Poles with powder baskets
Avalanche safety kit (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe)
Snow study kit (including a loupe, crystal screen, digital thermometer or alchohol thermometer)
Logbook with snow-profiles (Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain) - available for purchase at WAGB
Rite in the Rain book
Snow saw (optional)
