Wilderness First Aid - Whistler, BC Canada

This is a practical based course designed by Sirius Wilderness Medicine for individuals who will be participating in outdoor activities within hours of medical assistance. This course will provide participants with an introduction to wilderness first aid. Basic topics are covered with an emphasis on practical skills, decision making and dealing with environmental conditions. Content includes: patient assessment, shock, wound management, burns, fractures and sprains, environmental injuries, common medical problems, first aid kits. The Wilderness First Aid course may be modified to accommodate CPR training and other elements of wilderness first aid, outdoor safety or leadership training. This course is counts as a recertification for the AWFA 40 hrs course as well.
