Wedge Mountain Guided Tour
The highest mountain in Garibaldi Provincial Park (2904m), Wedge Mountain holds a dramatic appearance on its northern side. Our most popular requested route for guiding is the Northeast Arête, which is quoted in the Alpine Select Guide Book (by Kevin McLane) as "a beautiful classic of mountaineering in British Columbia."
Itinerary
This route is mostly lower angled snow, but is very exposed as you make your way across the arête to the upper flanks of the mountain. The first day is hiking to an alpine hut where you will spend the night before attempting the mountain the next day. From the hut, you’ll make your way up the sweeping Wedge Glacier to the start of the climb. Descend the mountain back to the hut to gather your stuff before descending the trail to the valley.
On request
1:1 $450 per person per day 2:1 $260 per person per day
Climbing equipment and group camping gear. Food is not included but can be arranged for an additional cost.
Difficulty rating: Challenging-requires competency on all types of alpine terrain and moderate fitness level.
